1. Information We Collect
ReadMyWriting is designed with privacy first. We collect minimal information:
- Handle: A pseudonymous username you choose. Not your real name.
- Passkey credentials: Public key cryptographic credentials for authentication. We never see your private key.
- Content: Stories and works you create on the platform.
- Usage data: Basic analytics (page views, feature usage) for platform improvement.
2. What We Don't Collect
- No email addresses
- No passwords (passkey authentication only)
- No real names
- No dates of birth
- No profile photos
- No location data (beyond country-level for security)
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide the ReadMyWriting service: authenticating your sessions, displaying your published works, and enabling platform features. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Data Security
Sessions are encrypted using iron-session. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passkey authentication is phishing-resistant by design. Database access is secured and parameterized to prevent injection attacks.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
ReadMyWriting does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must confirm they are 13 or older during registration. If we learn a user is under 13, their account will be immediately suspended.
6. Data Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data from Settings. Deletion has a 30-day cooling period, after which data is permanently removed. Published works are anonymized but may remain accessible.
